"The Southern Village Aging in Place" (SVAIP) organization was established in 2013 and now has over 100 members. We meet monthly at a member’s home for a two-hour social with wine and light hors d'oeuvres – called a Pub Crawl. Although we have focused primarily on the benefits of social networking, we are expanding to provide more activities and interest groups.
SVAIP has established a Steering Committee to assure continuity of the organization, coordinate activities, and facilitate Interest Group participation. The Steering Committee welcomes new ideas and new members. Please click below if you are interested in joining or have new ideas for the group. We are very informal -- no officers or elections.
“Aging in Place” refers to grassroots organizations that have sprouted up in neighborhoods around the Country. Their mission, structure, and sophistication vary widely, depending upon their individual goals and such factors as availability of local resources, age of the members, and size of the group.
